SEPPÄ (SMITH) I, digital, 2026
Carol Collan is a Helsinki-based media artist working with digital graphics, seriality, and color.Their work explores the relationship between the human body, monumentality, and the urban environment. Through processes of fragmentation, repetition, and reconstruction, urban forms, such as public sculptures and buildings, are transformed into kaleidoscopic visual structures.Collan’s practice combines digital image processing with manual ink work. The works are based on photographs that are further processed digitally and then reworked by hand. This creates a dialogue between mechanical reproduction and physical mark-making, where each work moves between repetition and uniqueness.Their works have been exhibited in Helsinki and are held in private collections.
